Jennifer R. Gallagher, M.D.

Jennifer R. Gallagher, M.D., specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina with Southwest Retina Specialists.
Dr. Gallagher is originally from Houston, but moved to Canyon to play softball for West Texas A&M University. Upon completing her collegiate softball career, she began working as a technician at Southwest Retina, where she found great mentors and developed a passion for pursuing a career in Vitreoretinal Surgery.
In 2009, Dr. Gallagher graduated from West Texas A&M University and earned her medical degree from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in 2015. She followed this with a residency in ophthalmology at Louisiana State University Health Science Center, where she served as chief resident from 2018 through 2019. Between 2019 and 2021, Dr. Gallagher completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Texas Health San Antonio Department of Ophthalmology. After completing her medical training, she returned to our community, hoping to provide comprehensive and compassionate care for her patients while working alongside Drs. Aragon and Ysasaga.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family—four children and three dogs—participating in her church’s small group, watching sports, and staying active.
